When I was ten, I found a wallet. There wasn't any money in it, but I knew how these things worked. I couldn't wait to return it and get my reward! All day I called the number from the brown leather wallet. Finally my dad relented and drove me to the owner's address. Once there we found a modest military housing unit with a torn screen door. As I rang the bell, my dad took three $20 bills and tucked them inside the wallet. Turns out my reward was getting to see one of life's true heroes in action. -- Ann Douglas Vaughan
